Re: James Tomkins
He has played 99 games for Palace in 4 seasons, not great. Contract ends summer 2022.

Re: James Tomkins
Sad init, he left for regular first team football, but some think he should come back and walk straight into the first team, even perhaps as Captain........

Expect Palace would be interested in a sale, they have better, flog him down the road to a lower PL team.

FOR FUCKS FUCKING SAKE!!!

He wanted to play - and he wasn't going to for us.

Re: James Tomkins
IIf in the remotest possibility he did come back it would just highlight how far we have come (gone backwards) since we sold him.....

Flog him to Palace in his prime, buy him back at the end of his career, fuck me, the thought that supporters actually think this up is depressing enough?

Let’s get Kouyate back at the same time, double swoop.....Overtaken and left in the dirt by fucking Palace……….LOL

Re: James Tomkins
He looked good as a youngster but flatlined like a lot of English players once they’ve ‘made it’.
It was his choice to go as he wanted guarantees that he would play and Bilic couldn’t give that.
Would have been back as a regular if he’d stayed but instead has just had a steady career Palace. Not even a regular there is he if Cahill & Sahko are fit?

Re: James Tomkins
My one defining memory of James Tomkins is that he had a unique ability of making the ball look like a hot potato whenever it was in his vicinity.

Saying that, defensively, he was ok - and we definitely shouldn't have sold for 12 odd million. Pointless.

That being said - He is nowhere near as good as Tarkovski.

Re: James Tomkins
I first saw Tomkins in a pre-season friendly at Gillingham several years ago. I think he was 17 then and getting a first run-out with 1st team squad.

I really thought we had a new Bobby Moore in the making. As it turned out, he didn't get anywhere near that and I remember with disappointment Tomkins getting roasted playing for GB in the 2012 Olympics I think it was?

There's a reason he's at Palace...

Re: James Tomkins
I was proper miffed when we sold him - ingest why he went, we were only going to play him right back and he wanted more time at centre back etc. But we got bigger all for him. And kouyate (another player who went backwards with us). Palace did alright out of those deals.

Re: James Tomkins
Hermit, I think people were already pissed off that we weren’t going to spend any money after struggling all last season.

Having one of our most promising yoofs sold was just an extra kick in the teeth. People are asking what exactly G&S have brought to the club in the last ten years besides razzle-dazzle .

Re: James Tomkins
There was more fuss about letting Diangana go that Tomkins. I find that strange given that one still has a lot to prove and the other one was a solid PL defender.
